Antonio Brown was traded to the Raiders after he requested a trade from the Steelers. AB is one of the best receivers in the league, but should the Raiders just let what he is doing continue? I would not want a guy like Brown on my team right now. Trashing on a former teammate who looked up to you and did not want any problems is childish.
Brown started this when someone tweeted him a picture of the Steelers social media account naming Juju Smith-Schuster the team MVP from the past season. Brown called out Juju for his fumble in the Steelers biggest game this season. Juju tweeted back about the love and respect he had for Brown, and then saying, “Crazy how big that ego got to be to take shots at people who show you love! Smh”. Antonio then posted an old Instagram dm from Juju when he was in college at USC, asking Brown for advice and basically just being a kid reaching out to an elite NFL player.
I have never been a big fan of AB, I didn’t have anything against Juju other than he plays for the Steelers, but after this I have respect for Juju and lost the little respect I had for Brown. He forced his way out of Pittsburgh by not showing up and calling out other people on the team, and now he’s in Oakland and still can’t leave the Steelers alone.
Brown’s talent is unquestioned, he is one of the most talented receivers in the game right now, and all time. He can make your team a winner on the field, but do his off the field actions hurt the team at the same time. He brings a lot of attention to the Raiders, and a whole lot of cockiness. I don’t think AB is built to be a champion, I think he is too much about himself, and himself only. Champions need to be team players, there might be a reason why Big Ben, LeVeon, and Antonio never won a super bowl together.
